The invention relates to measuring and testing the properties of materials, in particular, to methods for determination of the magnetocaloric effect (MCE). The technical result - speed up and simplify the MCE studies of magnetic materials. The technical result is achieved by using the adiabatic temperature change over a wide temperature range of the universal curve for the field and temperature dependence calculation. The adiabatic temperature change obtained by using a discrete set of experimentally measured curves of the adiabatic temperature change of the field. This method can be used in the study of magnetic materials with magnetic phase transition of order - disorder of the second kind.
